Jacqueline Fernandez grew up in Bahrain, Manama. She is Sri Lankan and comes from a multiethnic background. Jacqueline Fernandez's mom Kim and father Elroy were both born in Malaysia. Jacqueline is the youngest of two brothers and an older brother. Her parents moved to Bahrain in the late 1980s as a result of the Lankan civil unrest and hence she was raised in Bahrain. In Australia she was enrolled in Media and Communications at University of Sydney after completing her studies in Bahrain. As a lover of all cultures and languages she also took part in the Berlitz school of languages, in which she was able to learn Spanish as well as improve her French and Arabic. In addition, she was crowned Miss Sri Lanka 2006 for Miss Universe 2006 on March 6th of 2006, and then was a contestant at Miss Universe 2006. In the aftermath of winning the Miss Sri Lanka title in 2006, she stepped into the world of TV and anchored a show on Sri Lanka's business known as Lanka Business Report. Padukone's father is a professional badminton player Prakash Padukone. Padukone has been raised both in Copenhagen and Bangalore. When she was a teenager she participated in national badminton tournaments. She later resigned from the sport and became a fashion designer. Padukone is from Mangalorean background and her native language is Konkani. Padukone Village is located inside Kundapura Taluk within the Udupi District in Karnataka in India. Prakash Padukone's father is an international badminton champion who is retired. Her mom is a traveling agent.
